The impact of Children’s Ministry training at Trinity Church Mitchell’s Plain

This year we were delighted, as a church, to send two home-grown students to GWC to train in Children’s Ministry.  Children’s ministry worker, Emmanuel, says, “I am learning how to run children’s ministry in a way that leads the hearts of children to love God and love others as themselves. I have learned the importance of children in God’s Kingdom and that God desires them to be there. The only way to accomplish this is to point them to Christ and grow them in Scripture.”

Fellow children’s ministry worker, Alechia, has expressed just how much she has enjoyed learning how to teach children in different ways, using visual aids and storytelling, and unique methods for aiding memory. She has really embraced the skills necessary for intercultural children’s ministry.  We at Trinity have enjoyed watching their progress this year. It is clear that our children and teenagers are benefitting from the ministry of both students as they share a greater depth of theological understanding with a much larger range of teaching techniques.
