Explore was introduced in Botswana when Rev. Ross Anderson and Saralee Molodi, the Explore Operations Manager, held a promotional weekend in Gaborone. The sixty delegates, many from the Anglican Diocese of Botswana, were guided through Explore the Bible where Ross demonstrated how Explore could assist a student to read the Bible in context. They eagerly participated in the process, asking many questions which gave rise to vibrant discussions. The relationship between the Anglican Diocese of Botswana and Explore was coordinated by the Dean, Dr Celestino Chishimba, and fifty-one of the delegates have enrolled in continuing with Explore the Bible.
On the Sunday Ross was invited to preach at two services in The Anglican Cathedral, Holy Cross, one service in English and one with a translator.
With the assistance of the Dean and Mrs Beke Maunze, Head of Alpha Botswana Explore, we will be selecting ten candidates to be invited to a facilitator training seminar to be held in Gaborone from 7th to 9th July 2020. These ten candidates will be joined by potential facilitators from South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi and Zambia.
