Christ Church Midrand got its first serious exposure to Explore in 2015. Our involvement was a by-product of an incredible work of God in Mozambique, where to date close to 30 churches have been planted using Explore. In 2015 Bishop Morrison, our Rector, visited Mozambique where he witnessed this phenomenon first hand. He returned from that visit buzzing with excitement and full of urgency for us to get involved.
In January 2016 we started our first group with 65 explorers. Last year, after two and half years and eight exams, 30 of those students graduated with a certificate of completion. It was a wonderful celebration for our church. We now have four groups running concurrently and Explore has become part of the rhythm of an ordinary week at Christ Church Midrand.
The fruit of Explore has exceeded all our expectations. It has raised leaders, ignited a fire in those who were previously passive, and equipped ordinary Christians with the confidence and ability to engage in serious word ministry. Perhaps the greatest reward has been a growing love for the Lord Jesus amongst his disciples. The best way to capture it is in the words of one our explorers:
“I just praise the Lord for this course and the spiritual growth I have seen in my own life.”
