Four Kids, Heavy Modules, and the Grace of GWC Community
There is a unique kind of chaos that comes with being both a full-time student and a full-time mum to four school-aged children. Every afternoon, my kitchen counter transforms into a battlefield of textbooks, school notices, and half-eaten snacks. Before I can even think about my own church history essays, I am deep in the trenches of primary school homework, spelling tests, and teenage emotions.
By all human logic, the math shouldn't work. The workload at George Whitefield College (GWC) is intense, and the demands of a large family are relentless. Yet, day after day, the Lord God continues to make a way. He stretches my energy, quietens my anxious thoughts, and provides exactly what I need to juggle both my family and my calling. But God didn’t just give me the strength to survive; He gave me a community to thrive in.

Living in the family residence on campus, our home is tucked away in a complex villa shared with other student families. It’s a beautifully unique environment where the sound of children playing outside is a constant reminder of why we are all here -to serve the generations to come.
Because life is so fast-paced, the moments of connection with my fellow students on campus have become my absolute lifeline. Our days are anchored by precious pockets of time: The 10-Minute Courtyard Catch-Up: A quick dash between lectures into the fresh air, where we stand in circles, passionately discussing module content and debriefing what we just learned. The 15-Minute Ekklesia Lounge Break: This is our true sanctuary. We meet in the lounge area - aptly named Ekklesia (gathering) - to grab coffee, play games, or simply sink into the couches. It’s a safe space to vent about our daily student struggles, opening up about the mental and spiritual challenges we face. Wednesday Ladies Fellowship: Midweek brings my favourite hour. A small, intimate group of us women gather to share the deeper, more personal burdens of our hearts. We share raw testimonies, celebrate small victories, and lift each other up in desperate, powerful prayer.

When I first enrolled, I wondered if a mother of four would ever truly fit into college life. But GWC quickly became a space where I felt like I truly belonged.
It is more than just an academic institution; it is a set-apart community. In the rush between family dinners and theology lectures, I have found a tribe that prays me through the exhaustion, sharpens my mind, and reminds me that the same God who called me here is faithful to sustain my home.
