Stand-Alone Studies

Overview

Option 1: This study option allows students to register to complete stand-alone modules for credit for non-degree purposes at GWC. Completing a residential undergraduate stand-alone module requires class attendance and successful completion of all assessments, assignments, and exams. This study option includes stand-alone postgraduate modules which are offered in Hyflex mode. This mode enables students to attend classes, either in person, or by joining the classroom online in real time. This is not an online self-study option. It is, rather, the option to attend a live, physical classroom through a virtual interface. Applicants confirm their Module selection/s upon during the application process or upon acceptance of their application.

Only a few items are required for a student to register for stand-alone modules for credit.

1. Full personal details: name, contact number, church name, denomination
2. An Identity Document (South African ID, Foreign National ID, or Passport)
3. A Photograph
4. School-Leaving Results
5. A Biographical Essay
6. A Pastor's Reference Form

Option 2: You can register to complete stand-alone modules for casual learning purposes (auditing). This involves on-campus class attendance where the programme offers this, and does not involve completing assignments or exams. No credit is achieved when auditing modules. You can confirm your module selection/s upon acceptance of an initial application, and thereafter, before the start of the upcoming Semester.
